Our commitment to Rush University Medical Center
Since forming DimoStrong 18 months ago, we’ve stayed true to our mission of Educate, Create, Donate. Our board members, volunteers, families and friends have shown a ton of passion running our events, securing donations and spreading the word through social media. We are proud of our accomplishments in educating our community about autoimmune disease as well as creating awareness locally, on the web and in social media. During that time, we’ve been searching for an opportunity that fits our goal of helping families of autoimmune patients in a way that would responsibly honor our donor’s generous contributions.
We are proud to announce that we have established the DimoStrong Family Assistance Fund at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. We have made a commitment to Rush to establish the fund in memory of Anthony “Dimo” Dimiceli, which will help patients and their families who qualify for assistance while undergoing treatment at the Medical Center.
Contributions to the DimoStrong Family Assistance Fund will support families who are pursuing diagnosis or treatment for undetermined autoimmune diseases through Rush University Consultants in Allergy and Immunology and who are unable to afford aspects of their care not covered by insurance. Under the direction of Mary Tobin, MD, associate professor, allergy and immunology, Rush University Medical Center, funds will be distributed to families whose treatment for autoimmune diseases requires them to make multiple visits and/or stay multiple days at the hospital.
We are so grateful to the Office of Philanthropy at Rush, as they took the time to understand what DimoStrong represents and the goals we have around helping families who are battling autoimmune disease. The team at Rush has been fully committed to building a program that is aligned with our goals and we look forward to working with them as we continue to grow DimoStrong.
